LUPITA NYONG'O'S STOLEN 6,000 WHITE AKOYA PEARLS HAS BEEN RECOVERED

The Los Angeles police in a statement said a pearl studded dress resembling the outfit worn by Lupita at this years 87th Oscars award ceremony has been recovered.

The $150,000 dress designed by Calvin Klein was stolen from her hotel room in West Hollywood, California. The dress made Lupita to be named on many best dress list.

Los Angeles detectives began investigating and it has been found in the same hotel were it was stolen. The police were tipped of by TMZ who were contacted by a man claiming to be the thief.

The man claims he returned the dress after learning the white akoya pearls on the dress were fake.

Micheal White of the Los Angeles county sheriff's department said he believes it's the dress and "whether the pearls are fake or real...we still have a grand theft."

The detectives are working with Calvin Klein to confirm if its the dress. 

Lupita speaking on the dress design said "we talked about it being fluid and liquid. I wanted it to be an homage to the sea."
